The Community Foundation Fund supports community-led projects that make a real difference to peoples lives. The fund has a total pot of £250k to give to charities and groups in grants of up to £5,000.

Grant Purpose

The Community Foundation Fund supports community-led projects that make a real difference to people’s lives. The fund has a total pot of £250k to give to charities and groups in grants of up to £5,000* to buy equipment and items.

*Projects with greater need and larger impact may be eligible for higher levels of funding.

They support projects that help reduce poverty and promote healthy living.

Priorities are:

Reducing Poverty – Projects that tackle financial hardship, improve access to essential services, and create opportunities for people facing economic disadvantage.

Healthy Living – Initiatives that promote physical and mental well-being, encourage active lifestyles, and improve access to health-focused facilities and resources.

Eligibility Criteria

The Community Foundation Fund will award grants to support local communities located largely, but not exclusively, within the Yorkshire and Humber area, Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire.

  • All eligible applications will be assessed.

The Trustees’ decision is final.

Eligible organisations

This is not an exhaustive list. If you are not sure whether your application fits the criteria, please send an email to CFF@efficiencynorth.org

  • Unincorporated clubs or associations
  • A charity, registered with the Charity Commission
  • A community/voluntary group that have a constitution
  • A Co-operative and Community Benefit Society (registered by the 2014 Act)
  • A social enterprise (Community Interest Companies, companies limited by guarantee) that are registered with the appropriate body.

Other applications they can consider

  • They are committed to supporting inclusive organisations and groups.

Applications they are unable to consider

  • Equipment that has already been installed/ funded
  • Unspecified contributions to general fundraising appeals or large projects
  • Contribution to major appeals
  • Consultancy or feasibility studies
  • Promoting political beliefs 
  • Promoting religious beliefs  
  • Building or buying a premise or land rights
  • Contingency Funding 
  • Direct replacement of statutory and public funding 
  • Grant-giving organisations 
  • Infrastructure organisations
