Supporting independent, locally managed, non-profit, voluntary and community-based organisations that provide social support to the communities once served by Hillards stores in Boston and Lincoln.
The Trust supports
The Trust normally makes grants on a one-off basis up to £1,000, but makes two £10,000 grants where such a grant can deliver a significant impact for an organisation.
You must be a locally managed, non-profit, voluntary and community-based organisations that provide social support to the communities in Boston and Lincoln.
The areas it will fund:
• Care for older people
• Medical health
• Physical/mental health
• Children’s charities
• Church based projects
• Education
The Trust does NOT fund
• Any organisation with more than 33% of its income from statutory funding
• Animal welfare/Wildlife organisations
• Capital projects (e.g. building works) unless majority funding has been pledged
• Church roof/spire/organ/window restoration
• Community based activities run and managed by Local Authority employees
• Environmental causes – conserving & protecting plants, geography & scenery
• Expeditions/overseas travel/holiday schemes
• Grant-giving organisations
• Individuals’ personal needs
• Uniformed Organisations
• Loans or business finance
• Local Authority day care centres/health centres
• Mainstream education funding including teaching activities
• Medical research
• Minibuses – except maintenance/driver training support
• Musical/Theatrical groups, Artistic productions, Touring companies
• National charities without autonomy in an area covered by the Trust
• Promotion of religion
• Sponsorship/Fundraising events or activities by groups or individuals
• University/college fees
• Bodies that have received a grant from the Trust in the preceding 18 months
