Applications are open to all local good causes, but they are currently prioritising helping projects that support children’s food security and health and local store nominated good causes.
This is not an exhaustive list and other project ideas also welcomed.
Examples include:
Tesco Stronger Starts can fund 100% of your project costs so you do not have to have any match funding.
However, if you secured additional funding, there is no limit to what this amount can be and any funding awarded by Tesco can form part of your wider project costs.
Grants will be awarded to schools, voluntary or community organisations (including registered charities/companies), health bodies (e.g. Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), NHS Hospital Trust, Foundation Trust), Parish/Town Councils, local authorities and social housing providers.
This list is not exhaustive and there will be many other types of organisations that will be funded.

Projects that are ineligible
Tesco Stronger Starts is a rolling programme, where community groups or charities can apply for funding all year round. Applicants will generally know the outcome of their application between 12 months of applying. However, if your application is eligible, but not funded at the first attempt, your application may be reconsidered at subsequent shortlisting. Please note that there is no guarantee that your project will be chosen to appear in store due to high demand in some areas.
As this is a rolling programme, voting for projects will be happening continuously in Tesco stores.
Three projects from each local area will be shortlisted to go to the public vote every three months.
If your project gets the most votes across all stores in your region, you will win the grant amount you requested from us up to a maximum of £1,500.
Please note, if your project comes first, you will be awarded the amount that you requested. You will not automatically win £1,500. If your project is second, you will win up to £1,000 and if your project is third, you will win up to £500.
Additionally, they cannot make any changes to grant awards once the offer has been made so please ensure that you calculate your budget properly and that you ask for the funding that you need if you are requesting less than the maximum amount of £1,500.
