West Lindsey District Council – Community Action Fund

The Community Action Fund provides grants to support projects that build, enhance and ensure sustainable and impactful community activities, events and services for community benefit. The fund provides grants to projects that align with West Lindsey District Councils Thriving People and Thriving Places priorities:

Thriving people

Supporting people and communities to thrive by addressing inequality, tackling homelessness, improving housing conditions, boosting skills, adapting homes, improving health and wellbeing, and supporting those most in need.

Priorities for the Thriving People theme are to:

• champion health, wellbeing, culture, and active lifestyles
• support our communities to thrive
• enable independent living, improve housing conditions, and support vulnerable residents
• boost skills and pathways into employment

Thriving Places

Enabling sustainable and inclusive economic growth in our towns and rural communities, preserving our heritage, delivering homes that meet local needs, and ensuring our places and spaces are clean, green and safe.

Priorities for the Thriving Places theme are to:

• enable inclusive local growth and regeneration
• deliver homes that meet local need
• ensure clean, green, and safe communities

This grant can be used for:

• equipment
• event costs
• venue hire
• third party match funding
• revenue costs of delivering a project

This grant cannot be used for:

• anything illegal
• support to lobbying or campaign groups
• anything that will bring the council into disrepute
• anything party political, including supporting political organisations
• anything contrary to the council’s financial regulations or council policies
• anything that an organisation or local authority has a statutory obligation to deliver
• projects based or operating outside of West Lindsey unless they provide significant benefit to communities within West Lindsey
• anything that has already been spent or committed before receiving a grant (known as retrospective funding)
