Boston Library of Things – Request for Premises

Introduction

The Boston Library of Things is a new community‑led project that will allow residents to borrow useful items instead of buying them.

Their mission is to reduce waste, support local families and community groups, and make everyday living more affordable by offering access to tools, household items, gardening equipment, event décor, craft materials and more.

They are currently in the early development phase and have already seen strong local interest. Many residents have offered donations, volunteered their time, or shared ideas about what they would like to borrow.

They are working closely with us at CVS Lincolnshire and engaging with community groups, organisations, and partners keen to collaborate as the project grows.

However, one of their biggest challenges is finding suitable premises to get the project up and running. They are looking for a small, secure, and affordable space that can be used for storage, sorting, and occasional volunteer activity.

What they are Seeking

They are looking for:

• A room, unit, or storage space of approximately 150 to 300 square foot
• Dry, secure, and accessible premises
• Space suitable for shelving, crates, and a mixed inventory of items
• Occasional access for volunteers to organise stock
• Ideally located within Boston town or nearby
• Low‑cost, peppercorn rent, or community‑rate options

They are very flexible and open to shared spaces, unused rooms, community buildings, or partnerships with organisations that may have spare capacity.
