Project St Thomas provides a Cancer Befriending Service, which is dedicated and specialised for cancer survivors and also current sufferers currently undergoing treatment.
They want to assist everyone to have the confidence to interact socially, and also the funds to be able to do so including the cost of transport to an activity at their venue for example.
Their goal is remove obstacles preventing you from embracing your new life.
Based in Spalding, they particularly focus on supporting older adults and individuals from deprived communities, many of whom face significant barriers to emotional wellbeing and social reintegration following cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Cancer treatment can be a profoundly challenging experience, impacting patients physically, emotionally, and socially. Changes in appearance, loss of confidence, and isolation especially affect those without strong support networks. Our mission is to walk alongside these individuals, helping them rebuild confidence, regain a sense of normalcy, and live well after cancer.
Through this funded project, they offer a person-centred befriending and practical support service including:
They work closely with healthcare professionals, social prescribers, and local community groups to ensure timely referrals and personalised support. By referring your patients to Project St Thomas, you can help them access a safe, compassionate space where they are listened to, supported, and encouraged at their own pace.
Referrals can come into them from professional partners and also self referral.
Please contact Project St Thomas directly and they can begin assisting you in the manner you would like to help you to celebrate life and embrace your resilience and new beginnings with hope and dignity.
