The Carers Sitter Service is a voluntary organisation with the aim to help the housebound.
It is a registered charity which works closely with other caring organisations.
The sitters are caring, reliable women and men, who understand the difficulties faced by carers, and all sitters will have gone through a process of interview by the Service and references have been taken up.
It provides a service assisting carers and their families across Stamford, the Deepings, Bourne and their surrounding villages.
So if you are caring for a dependent relative or friend at home and you need a break occasionally, the Carers Sitter Service can be of help to you.
The Service attempts to meet the needs of carers and can be available on either an occasional or regular basis, during the day, evening or at weekends.
You can call on them for a regular visit or as and when, perhaps for two or three hours at a time, or just as a backstop to cover things you need to do.
This allows the carer time to regain some independence and control over their own lives, which in turn helps give them the strength and energy to provide the ongoing support their dependent needs.
The Carers Sitter Service provides free respite support and home sitting for people who are as restricted because of the 24-hour care they are providing for dependent relatives and friends.
Please note though that this is a sitting service and not a nursing service.

Please note their opening times are Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:30am until 2:30pm.
From January 2026 the office will be open three days a week. The new opening hours will be from
9:30am until 1:30pm on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s.
