NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (LICB) is making changes to how children and young people’s continence services are delivered.
Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) currently provide tier 1 continence support services (providing advice, guidance and signposting for day and night-time wetting and bowel concerns) as part of their core responsibilities and some tier 2 continence support services (specialist support such as bladder and bowel assessments, scans, advice and intervention) on behalf of Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board.
So that Lincolnshire County Council can focus on their core responsibilities, it has been decided that Lincolnshire County Council will continue to provide tier 1 continence support services. However, as from 1st January 2026, Lincolnshire County Council are no longer providing tier 2 continence support services as part of its children’s nursing offer.
Therefore, a new provider is being re-procured to deliver the tier 2 continence support services, with the aim of having this in place by July 2026. In the interim, some aspects of tier 2 services will still be delivered by Lincolnshire County Council while others, like medication reviews and assessments for enuresis alarms, will be referred back to general practice (GPs).
