The Lincolnshire breast screening service offers free breast screening by appointment for women aged between 50 and 70 years old.
Lincolnshire NHS offers free breast screen appointments and this helps by finding breast cancers at an early stage when they are too small to see or feel. Screening does not prevent you from getting breast cancer.
If you haven’t already had an invitation, then anyone registered with a GP as female will be invited for NHS breast screening every three years between the ages of 50 and 71.
You will get a letter in the post inviting you.
You will automatically get your first invite for breast screening between the ages of 50 and 53. Then you will be invited every three years until you turn 71.
You need to be registered with a GP surgery to be invited for breast screening.
If you have not been invited for breast screening by the time you are 53 and think you should have been, contact your local breast screening service.
Appointments are available at their hospital clinics all year round. These can be found in:
There are also mobile breast screening units that are often around the county for limited times. When you receive your invitation contact the breast screening service as soon as possible to find out where the mobile units are based so they can book you an appointment at the most convenient venue to you.
Mobile site venues can be found at:
