The Funding Futures Programme is awarding funding to young social entrepreneurs aged 16-30 and is aimed at supporting young people who have been sidelined by the financial system.
Awards can range from £8,000 to £18,000 and funding can be used in a variety of ways providing the proposed activities involve financial literacy and/or financial inclusion or exclusion solutions. For example:
In addition to funding, UnLtd also offers each grantee a bespoke package of training around financial literacy and business acumen, through 1:1 mentor and peer support.
This allows the social entrepreneurs to accelerate the development of their inclusivity and sustainability ethos, enabling them to access further more mainstream business support in the future.
To date 10 awards have been made but UnLtd is struggling with the geographical spread of their outreach, and they have a depth of applications from the East of England and the North West generally.
They would like to encourage applications from young social entrepreneurs in East and North West England.
