East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) and Boston Borough Council (BBC) in partnership with British Cycling are delighted to share with you that the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men’s Race 2026 will be coming to Lincolnshire on Thursday 3rd September 2026, with Stage 2 travelling from Boston to Skegness.
As one of the UK’s largest free-to-attend sporting events, the Tour of Britain attracts thousands of spectators and a significant national television audience. The race will pass through towns and villages across the boroughs of Boston and East Lindsey before finishing on Skegness seafront.
A Chance to Showcase Your Community
The Tour of Britain is about much more than cycling. It is an opportunity to celebrate the places we call home and showcase the pride, creativity and community spirit that exists across Lincolnshire.
As riders travel through the district, television viewers will see our villages, landscapes, community spaces and local people. Together we have an opportunity to create a fantastic welcome and show the very best of East Lindsey to audiences across the country.
Whether you are a community group, village hall committee, arts organisation, sports club, residents’ association, church group, care home, youth organisation, In Bloom group, Men’s Shed, scout group or volunteer network, there are lots of ways to get involved.

Community Bunting and Banner Sessions
One simple but effective way to get involved is to organise a community session where people can come together to create:
Not only does this help prepare for the event, it also creates an opportunity for people to meet, volunteer and feel part of something bigger.
Route Dressing
British Cycling encourage a consistent approach across the route.
To support this, we are encouraging communities to use Union Jack bunting and flags wherever possible. This helps create a recognisable and celebratory atmosphere throughout the district whilst complementing the official event dressing.
Community Cheer Points
One of the simplest and most effective ways to support the race is to create a community cheer point.
Whether outside a village hall, on a village green, outside a care home, near a church, at a community centre or simply in a safe location along the route, groups can help create a memorable welcome for the riders.
The enthusiasm of local communities is often one of the most memorable aspects of the Tour of Britain and helps create fantastic images for television audiences.
