LCVP Supporting Communities and Volunteers in Lincolnshire

Introduction:

Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Partnership (LCVP), which is made up of Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) and Voluntary Centre Services (VCS), are proud to provide communities and volunteers in Lincolnshire with their very best support and advice to create a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

We are dedicated in making a difference to the communities across Lincolnshire and our efforts are driven by a shared belief that everyone deserves access to the resources they need to thrive.

We are also proud to be the only accredited Volunteers Centres in the county of Lincolnshire and both Voluntary Centre Services and Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service hold the Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation (VCQA), which demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and our delivery against the five core functions of a volunteer centre as well as collaborating with local partners.

We are also working hard towards achieving the Armed Forces Convenant Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award.

We provide a range of support to community and voluntary sector organisations including volunteering development, funding advice, capacity building and specific programmes offering direct support to individuals such as the Social Prescribing Link Worker service and the Core20PLUS5 health initiative.

Other projects promoting volunteering include the Environmental Volunteer Programme in Boston, Community Enterprise in East Lindsey, the Community Transport Project across the South & East Lincolnshire Council Partnership areas of South Holland, Boston and East Lindsey, the Together Initiative in Gainsborough and the Moorland Community Centre project in Lincoln.

2024/2025 Year End Highlights

LCVP had a strong 2024/2025 and below are a selection of highlights that strengthens our position as one of the leading providers to the voluntary and community sector in Lincolnshire.

In the last year we have created a brand new LCVP website showcasing all the services we provide as well as our volunteering platform which has well over a thousand registered volunteers and over 150 registered organisations offering over 1,300 volunteer opportunities.

Coupled with our other programmes, including Community Enterprise, Together Initiative, Community Transport, Moving On and Moorland, we continue to support the community and voluntary sector throughout Lincolnshire with our unwavering support and dedication.

Below are some of the year end highlights 2024/2025 for community projects and engagements.

  • 1,094 people made applications to volunteering opportunties on our volunteering platform
  • 438 people who made applications started volunteering. This amounts to 2 in 5 applicants

What Will 2025/2026 Bring?

As we move into 2025/26, our focus is shifting to volunteers and potential volunteers as we run Community Marketplace events across the county.

These Marketplace events which we are currently undertaking, is aimed at people who may never have considered volunteering and offering these in parts of the county where it may not be quite so easy to visit one of our Volunteer Centres or offices.

We want to gather as much feedback as we can to enable us to experiment, promote and create a culture where volunteering is highly valued and is a dynamic force for good. We would also like to know what isn’t working and to see what can be done differently.

Moorland Community Centre, Lincoln

The Moorland Community Centre project continues to engage residents with volunteering opportunities. New volunteer opportunities are now active on our volunteering platform and micro volunteering is happening on a regular basis.

Moorland run regular weekly activities and many other activities including litter picking, craft activities, gardening and cooking.

Core20PLUS5 Programme

Core20PLUS5 is a national NHS England approach to support the reduction of health inequalities at both national and system level.

Whilst we focused on children and young people across Lincolnshire with diabetes, our new focus will be on asthma.
