Lincoln Lottery Community Fund

Introduction

City of Lincoln Council and CVS Lincolnshire are pleased to announce that applications are now being invited for a share of the final Lincoln Lottery Community Fund.

A total of £17,811 is available within the fund to support local projects and activities benefiting the residents of Lincoln.

How was the Fund Raised?

The fund was raised by supporters of Lincoln Community Lottery from August 2024 up to the lottery being transferred to a new operator in early April 2026.

The supporters either –

  • selected the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund as their good cause when purchasing tickets – 60 pence of every ticket sold supported this fund
  • selected any of the other good causes when purchasing tickets – 10 pence of every ticket sold supported the Community Fund, with a further 50 pence going directly to the supporter’s chosen good cause.

Consultation results

During July 2026, a consultation took place to identify the top two priority areas where lottery supporters and residents would like the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund to be allocated towards.

The consultation identified the top two priority areas as:

  • Reducing the impacts of poverty and
  • Reducing social isolation and loneliness

Who can Apply for a Share of the Funding?

Good causes operating in one or both of the priority areas listed above are now invited to apply for a share of the funding to deliver a specific project or activity that benefits the residents of the City of Lincoln.

‘Good causes’ that are eligible to apply are:

  • Constituted groups with Terms of Reference and a volunteer management committee, which has a minimum of three unrelated members that meet on a regular basis (at least 3 times per year)
  • Registered charities, with a board of Trustees
  • Registered Community Interest Companies (please provide copies of your Community Interest Statement, details of the Asset Lock included in your Memorandum and Articles of Association, and a copy of your latest annual community interest report)

All good causes applying for funding must have a dedicated bank account for the organisation, which requires at least two unrelated signatories to access the funds.

All causes must also meet the Lincoln Lottery Community Fund Terms and Conditions (available via the application form for the fund) and provide copies of documentation to prove their eligibility upon request.

What Must Projects and Activities Supported by the Fund do?

Chosen projects and activities must:

  • Directly support Lincoln’s residents
  • Meet one or both of the priority areas selected by lottery supporters and residents
  • Demonstrate that they will begin to use the funding within 6 months of allocation
  • Confirm they will use all funding allocated within 12 months
  • Have a clear and defined outcome or outcomes

Cllr Lucinda Preston, Portfolio Holder for Reducing Inequality, said:

“The Lincoln Lottery Community Fund has supported a range of local good causes since 2018, and it is great that we are able to offer this fund for one final time thanks to the supporters of Lincoln Community Lottery. I would encourage local good causes working in the areas of reducing the impacts of poverty and reducing social isolation and loneliness to consider making an application for a share of the fund. I look forward to seeing the funds benefit Lincoln’s communities over the year ahead.”
