The Moving On programme helps people who are not currently in work to overcome the challenges they face, build confidence, and take positive steps forward in their lives.
Funded by North Kesteven District Council (NKDC) through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and delivered by Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Partnership (LCVP), the programme offers person-centred, tailored support so that each participant receives the help they need.
Many participants face multiple and complex barriers to gaining employment, from health challenges to low confidence or lack of recent work experience.
The programme’s strength lies in its holistic approach with the Moving On project team offering practical help alongside encouragement and social connection.
Our project workers take the time to listen, understand individual circumstances, and provide support that ranges from skills development and job search advice to volunteering placements and wellbeing activities.
For some, it’s practical support with job searching or CVs that is required, whilst for others, it’s having someone walk alongside them as they rebuild confidence and self-belief.
Local community coffee mornings, developed and run as part of the project, also give people a safe and welcoming space to share experiences, meet others, and build confidence.
Participants often talk about how Moving On has been life-changing, whether by reducing isolation, improving wellbeing, or giving them the tools and networks to move into work, volunteering, or training.
For many, the journey isn’t just about finding work, it’s about rediscovering purpose, belonging, and self-confidence.
By working closely with our LCVP colleagues and services such as Volunteer Centres and Social Prescribing services, as well as our local community partners, Moving On ensures participants are supported not only into employment, but into stronger, more confident futures.
