Lincolnshire Community Foundation, working with Lincolnshire County Council, is launching a new opportunity to provide support for care experienced young people across Lincolnshire and beyond.
They are inviting voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations to apply. Organisations should have experience of supporting young people, delivering community services and working in partnership with others.
The organisation chosen will work alongside the Leaving Care Service Team at Lincolnshire County Council. The programme will support care experienced young people aged 16–25 and will help improve wellbeing, develop life skills and strengthen connections with their communities. It will also help partners work together more effectively across Lincolnshire’s large and mainly rural county.
Lincolnshire is home to more than 1,000 care experienced young people. Many face challenges as they move towards independent living. Research and local engagement show that many young people need more support with everyday skills such as managing money, keeping a tenancy, cooking, finding the right services and looking after their mental health and wellbeing.
This three-year programme is funded by The Henry Smith Foundation, Lincolnshire County Council and Lincolnshire Community Foundation. It aims to improve wellbeing, life skills and community connections for care experienced young people by developing a community parenting approach that works alongside statutory services.
