Supporting Diabetes Prevention and Remission Programmes

Introduction:

The Engagement Team at Xyla Services are delivering the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme and NHS Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme, and currently planning activity for South Asian Heritage Month running throughout July.

They are keen to work with organisations to raise awareness of support available to Asian and Asian British communities, who are disproportionately affected by Type 2 diabetes, with individuals up to 2–4 times more likely to develop the condition.

Both programmes are free and evidence-based, and are:

  • NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP): Supports people at high risk to reduce their chances of developing Type 2 diabetes. For more information follow this link to the Preventing Diabetes website.

  • Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme (T2DR): Supports eligible individuals to achieve remission. For more information follow this link to the Preventing Diabetes website.

South Asian Heritage Month

They are also developing a South Asian Heritage Month web page to promote partner activity and would be pleased to highlight any joint work.

We aim to make collaboration as simple as possible. If you’re able to support, we’d love to hear from you, particularly about:

  • The best contact for partnership or outreach
  • Opportunities to feature in communications
  • Upcoming events they could attend
