The Butterfly Hospice Gardening Club

The Butterfly Hospice Logo

Introduction:

Do you have green fingers and want to showcase your skills, or enjoy being outdoors and want to support The Butterfly Hospice Trust?

Whatever your reasons maybe, if you enjoy gardening, then why not volunteer for The Butterfly Hospice gardening club, where you will find beautifully landscaped grounds, which require meticulous work to keep them looking their best.

Enjoy fresh air, make new friends and support The Butterfly Hospice charity at the same time. Refreshments will be provided to and there might even be some cake!

The hospice gardens offer a calm and tranquil space for patients, families, and visitors, as well as housing their Therapy Village and serving as a place of remembrance.

As a Gardening Volunteer, you will help to maintain and enhance these beautiful spaces, ensuring they remain peaceful and welcoming for all who visit.

About The Butterfly Hospice Gardening Club

Anyone with a love for gardening can come along to the gardening club, and this is a flexible role, and volunteers are welcome to give as much time as they can.

All they ask is that you have a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, are happy to work independently and as part of a team, and have a love for nature and attention to detail when caring for plants and green spaces.

This role is ideal for those with gardening skills who want to share their expertise, individuals looking for a relaxing and rewarding way to give back and anyone wanting to spend time outdoors, stay active, and meet new people.

What Will I be Doing?

Some of the jobs include:

  • Pruning, planting, cutting, and trimming to keep the gardens well-maintained
  • Tidying and clearing pathways, flower beds, and communal spaces
  • Maintaining seasonal plants to ensure a vibrant and attractive environment
  • Working alongside other volunteers and the hospice team to develop and improve the gardens
